Our lives are one long battle after another, waged by the same enemy whos been trying to destroy us since the moment we first passed through our mothers womb. We feel the battle in our homes, in our relationships, in our bodies, in our heads. We hear the taunts challenging our attitudes, our reactions, our impulses our work ethic. It takes the form of arguments and silences and tears and betrayals. We sense it in everything from our serving size portions to our television viewing habits. Its both everyday and out of the blue. Struggles. Frustrations. Fissures. Pressures. The battle. The Spiritual war. Paul wants us to know that the battle youre staring at right now in your life - is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Against Satan. Against fierce spiritual opposition. And yet even with all of that assembled military might drawn up in battle formation against us, we are not outmatched...because we have armor: the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11). Truth to fight the lies. Grace-given righteousness to fight the guilt and regret. Peace to fight the impatience. Faith to fight the sneak attacks of doubt. And to top it all off, salvation and His Spirit to guarantee eternal victory. We have POWER. And that means, with Gods help, we can win the battle every single time. Priscilla Shirer
