Our prayers for the SMSM as they pray through the loss of Sr OBrien. She died On Sunday in Australia, December 7 Sister Claire OBrien at 11.00am . Claire was 89 years old and 65 years professed. Her SMSM missionary life was in the Solomon Islands where she went in 1954 and worked there until her return permanently to Australia in 1997. Claire was an artist of repute especially in the Solomons. She wrote several books and was a gifted poet. For the past six months she was a resident in the John Woodward Apartments at Gilroy Village May the angels come to greet her and the saints lead her into paradise to join all our Marist holy women and men. The funeral mass will take place on Thursday morning at 10.30am in the parish church of St Margaret Marys, Merrylands Road, Merrylands after which the cortege will travel to Macquarie Park cemetery, Delhi Road, North Ryde.
