Our prayers go out to the families and victims of Ebola, as well as the city of Dallas. As new cases develop in healthcare workers and others here in the United States, it is clear that containment and safety protocols must be critically reviewed and improved. Until such time as reliable Ebola related containment and disposal protocols are developed, I will take all necessary steps to ensure the citizens of Louisiana are protected. I am requesting a Court order prohibiting the transport of six truckloads of potential Ebola contaminated material, collected from the apartment of the Dallas Ebola victim, to a hazardous waste landfill in Louisiana for final disposal.
