Our society is structured on the excessive consumption of non-renewable resources. These resources are being rapidly depleted at a time of unprecedented population growth. Fewer resources, for greater numbers of people means resource demand will outstrip resource supply. We will soon find ourselves in greater conflicts over dwindling resources in an economy that necessitates infinite growth, dependent upon unessential consumption.
