Our sweet Calliope is doing so much better after just one week out - TopicsExpress

Our sweet Calliope is doing so much better after just one week out of the shelter. Calliope goes back to the doctor on Monday to get her lungs checked to determine how much they have healed and will then see additional specialists to determine the best course of treatment for her eyes, ears and skin. The good news is she is not deaf. Laser treatment seems to have restored some of her hearing and although she is still hearing impaired, we are hoping and praying for more improvement through continued treatment. Although Calliope will likely have permanent damage to her eyes from the scarring we are hopeful that she is not totally blind. Only time and patience will tell. This is a plain and simple neglect case so we are trying not to overwhelm Calliope with too many tests and treatments at one time. She has been through so much and has a long road ahead of her but as you can see by the video, she is in good and loving hands and will be treated with the kindness and compassion she so deserves and has probably never experienced. Calliope is still in need of any contributions you can spare to her medical expenses...and there are so many. Even after her eyes, ears and skin have been treated, she will still need to undergo heartworm treatment. TO DONATE: angelsrescue.org/donate and note your donation is for Calliope.
