Our understanding of how the master schedule change process is as follows. 1) Managers will assign positions based on everyone’s preferences according to the Union contract. 2) All RNs will be asked to sign a form that they are accepting the position they are offered. If the new position is not a “reasonable offer” (see below), you will have the option to bump into the low senior RN position that you qualify for in the unit, the department or the hospital. Unfortunately, given the large number of bumps, you will not know which positions you will bump into at the time you make this decision. 3) A position is not a “reasonable offer” if – a. the hours are different by greater than ten percent (10%) from the RN’s current position. b. If the new position is a different shift or pay status - full-time or part-time. For bumping and master schedule changes, full-time is defined as sixty (60) hours or more per two (2) week pay period. 4) IF YOU SIGN THE FORM ACCEPTING THE POSITION THROUGH THE MASTER SCHEDULE CHANGE, MANAGEMENT WILL TAKE THIS TO MEAN YOU HAVE ACCEPTED THE POSITION AND WAIVED YOUR BUMPING RIGHTS EVEN IF IT IS NOT A REASONABLE OFFER. 5) HR will provide you with your bumping options at a later da
