Our wild fillies are anything but wild now! We got them Sept 1st - TopicsExpress

Our wild fillies are anything but wild now! We got them Sept 1st as weanlings aprox 4 to 5 months old and they still looked like babies. Now they are yearlings and have they grown! Bob the sorrel was the wildest and the one who was most untrustworthy (I wasnt sure I would ever get through to her) but when she turned the corner she was with us 100%. They have only known patience and kindness since landing here and while we may have went slower than some it really paid off. They are very trusting, loyal and do not have a mean bone in their body. They are very smart horses and decent looking too for being feral. Especially Bob and Kahneeta. Missy is the only mustang having come from a separate herd away from the reservation. The other two were considered wild or feral since the mustang has been bred out of them. I love our girls and Scott is very partial to Bob especially. Bob is the sorrel, Kahneeta is the dark bay and Missy is the grey. The little older POA Classy is Missys stand in mom and they are still very bonded but Missy is starting to show signs of independence. Classy literally saved Missys life IMO. Of the 3, Missy was in the most serious condition, mentally and physically, and it was Classy who I credit for giving Missy the will to live. Once Classy took her in they were mother and daughter from that point on even tho they are absolutely not related at all. Classy and Missy have been separated from Kahneeta and Bob since last fall but I recently put them in with the other two so they can learn to socialize with other horses. Classy is a good teacher in that respect too. She may be old but she still has an important job to do and if anyone can do it well, it would be her! In her firm but gentle way she is teaching them all about herd hierarchy. Scott Meredith Taylor
