Our workshop today was focused on macro theme - issues women are facing in developed & developing countries. The Half the Sky Movement is a wonderful organization that brings light on many of the issues that women are facing worldwide. Journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn compiled a book filled with the real life stories and experiences of these women, along with solutions to help them ... because of course there are solutions! Its called: Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide. Theyve also turned the book into a documentary (thats 4 hours long) - but I encourage you to watch it, its really uplifting!
