Out here with Christian McBrides trio is just Amazing! For the first in the past year or so I heard real mainstream jazz, and not from the great masters of the past, but rather from a contemporary trio. All three musicians are brilliant, solidly led by McBride. The disc includes nine well developed and thought through compositions, some of them are of eight or so minutes long. Their sound is profound for the bass, crisp for the drums and melancholic for the piano, as it should be. Finally, the cover of the CD looks really classy. In this kind of things, everything is equally important. Congratulations to the whole production team!
