Outgoing NHS boss David Nicholsons comments, (reported yesterday), that the NHS is doomed if subjected to any further austerity reveal the governments not so secret plans to privatise health care by running down the current public service to the point of collapse are coming to fruition. This seems to be the Tories plan generally for the entire public sector....starve it of cash, demoralize staff with pay freezes and the constant threat of redundancy, force it to go through huge pointless re-organizations and wait for the inevitable implosion. This at the same time as spinning the lie that public services are inefficient, staffed by lazy feckless private sector recjects, are overly costly by their very nature and unaffordable in the brave new post-crash neo-liberal reality. Meanwhile the governments corporate paymasters circle like vultures ready to step in and suck up all that lovely tax money. Yes folks this is what is happening and its a bloody con. The private sector has an appalling record of running public services and providing value for money. Take G4S and Serco who have been exposed as overcharging the nation by over 100 million in just 7 years on just one contract (tagging of offenders) ...(we suspect that this probably just the tip of the iceberg). Look at the farago with untrained Court Recorders, the London Olympics security.. The promises of lower prices and increased competition when rail, water and power companies were sold off havent materialised, and to rub salt in the wounds caused by steep prices and poor service, we pay them billions in subsidies each year for the privilege. Why anyone without a vested interest would ever support privatization of our public iinstitutions is beyond us ... WRx
