“Outlander,” a much-anticipated drama is adapted from Diana Gabaldon’s popular novel of the same name. The epic adventure follows Claire (Caitriona Balfe), a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743. In the past, her life is threatened and she’s forced to marry Jamie Fraser (Heughan), a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior. As a result, Claire becomes torn between her two lives. “Romance is an element, but there’s nothing sappy about this story,” Balfe said. ”It’s really gritty, lots of action, lots of adventure. None of the female characters are weak.
