Outlook - Becoming very warm across the South/South East - TopicsExpress

Outlook - Becoming very warm across the South/South East Wednesday/Thursday, with a general warm up for Wales and the Southern half of England, before unsettled weather moves in for the weekend - risk of thundery showers and isolated thunderstorms. The good news is that the weather is warming up, albeit temporarily as a weak ridge of high pressure moves across the Southern half of the United Kingdom. Further North, lower pressure will be close by which will bring cooler temperatures, a risk of showers (particularly across Scotland) and more in the way of cloud across far North Western coasts. The main change comes later this week, as low pressure moves in across all areas delivering showers or longer spells of rain come the weekend. As we move into Saturday and Sunday, favorable conditions may lead to a risk of thundery showers and isolated thunderstorms developing. For now though, at least, temperatures will be on the rise across Eastern England, The Midlands, South West England, the South and South East England during the next couple of days with temperatures expected to peak on Thursday. With highs of 25, possibly 26c across South East England. Temperatures during Wednesday and Thursday will generally range from 15-18c across the far North (including Scotland - though cooler during showers), 18-21c across inland North Wales and North West England, 19-22c for Yorkshire & Lincolnshire and 18-21c for inland South West England away from the extreme tip of Cornwall. Temperatures will be higher further South and across inland parts of East Anglia with highs ranging from 23-26c. Temperatures will be cooler across Southern coastal counties as we pick up some sea breezes here. So to conclude; Warming up with settled weather across the Southern half of the United Kingdom (Today, Wednesday, Thursday). Cooler further North with some showers, particularly across Scotland. Turning increasingly unsettled towards the weekend with low pressure moving in bringing thundery showers and longer spells of rain. Lewis
