Over the last three days I have truly learned the sacrifice that comes with ministry, and leadership. This weekend was PACKED with so much! My heart truly wanted to be EVERYWHERE but physically impossible! I want to firstly thank the 300+ persons that texted, called, tweeted, Facebooked, me on my birthday yesterday! I was truly blessed at the outpouring of your love! Im truly blessed to know and have blessed folk in my life! I AM because YOU ARE, and I and am eternally grateful! Secondly I would like to congratulate my friend and brother, and colleague in ministry Matthew E. Morgan-Pegues who on today officially became a member of the Beta Rho Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated! Again my heart truly wanted to be there! Maya Angelou once stated How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! This weekend I did just that! No one knows how much it meant to celebrate the Rev. Dr. Dwayne Anthony Walker and his 25 years of Excellence in Pastoral Ministry! I truly dont know where I would be without his leadership, and guidance over the last nine years! You have been a blessing to me in so many ways, and I could never repay you for the countless hours of counsel, teaching, preaching, and being there when I needed sound advice and guidance! You are truly one of my heroes!! In the midst of everything that occurred this weekend im grateful for the lesson that ministry is about putting OTHERS before SELF, and GOD before EVERYTHING!
