Over the months I’ve questioned why Im not progressing as I used - TopicsExpress

Over the months I’ve questioned why Im not progressing as I used to in parkour, and in my studies. When starting it was amazing to discover and learn things which was new to me. In parkour, there was much to learn and much to try, with people giving tips and pointers all around. There was a satisfaction to every single time that I could “gain”, and it was exhilarating. Now, it seems that there is more pressure to do more, and people seem to be moving by much quicker. The standard I had to “move forward” seemed far. But it soon occurred to me that life became larger, everyone around me jumped farther and higher, unphased by the dangers that came with a cat leap or flip. Coming to Mondays for weeks seemed productive, but something was holding me back. something was stopping me from progressing, and it was my worry of holding on. In a jump, just as in an exam, there is no time to analyze what comes ahead, just as everything is responsive and instinctive. the information should BECOME you and flow through your hands. What was it? I train every week to be in top condition, and yet cannot seem to make a “leap” that I could for many times in the past! Then it occurred to me that the problem was not in the training I did, (in fact it helped alot) but I relied on that training too much. I was holding onto something safe, something in my comfort zone. The ground. Could I try to force myself out of it? yes, but the worried that bound to me would just simply come back. I needed Faith. To have faith means not holding on, and not holding on means being in the moment, where everything is new, at every second and every minute. Your mind knows nothing at that point, but COULD learn everything. Don’t hold on, because that is where failures (which lead to hesitation) and success (which leads to pride) lies. Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in {your} moral excellence, knowledge, and in {your} knowledge, self-control, and in {your} self-control, perseverance, and in {your} perseverance, godliness, and in {your} godliness, brotherly kindness, and in {your} brotherly kindness, love. For if these {qualities} are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ...Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; - 2 Peter 1:5-10
