Over the weekend I watched 12yrs a slave and today marking the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg address, I wonder how could men, a country that was birthed on freedom and the belief and proposition that all men are created equal, could so easily enslave and abuse its own citizens. I wonder how such men could claim to be God fearing and God loving yet treat another worse then any animal they owned with abuse that can never really be told. So as I reflect on that speech 150yrs ago today, I wonder if one of our greatest Presidents would have foreknown or considered that at the end of such a powerful speech, that this nations most prized assets would be in a battle far greater and much more costly than Gettysburg, a battle that would last the next 100yrs until we would hear another great man stand at his feet and deliver his own speech that we are Free at last, thank God almighty we are free at last kp
