Overview of Student of Trans Nzoia meeting with Governor on Dec 27th. 1. Organizer did extremely well, thanks to Mwale Obed Alpha and Philemon Kirwa for they did their level best. 2. The events engineers/sponsors from County lead by Julius Mbagaya also did best to accommodate the logistics needs of the student organizers including meeting hall rental and transport. 3. Governor Khaemba financial support for the forum was great at-least in meeting the groups logistics and planning. 4. Agenda and program was okay planned, but as from the beginning the vent organizers main agenda was compromised. I could pick that from Philemon Kirwa body Language. 5. It makes no senses at all that the Governor spend no time answering question from youths. Excuses-wise, Governor is getting better and better, it is sickening at this pace. 6. County Secretary, Executive members and County officers on answering student question was somewhat obvious, most of question were deflected and just like their boss with never ending excused. 7. It was extremely sad that most student in forum never received bursary. Where I was seated, most of them were like those who received bursary have connection with Gov 8. It was embarrassing that Hon Bissau was never recognized and given chance to speak, was it not for efforts of Hon Matthews Nyarango, Bissau could not have gotten chance yet he was invited ( He missed to attend a wedding in Tanzania for the forum). When Bissau got chance, he told the County Gov that they have failed and he got an applause from students. 9. The student leaders including Philemon Kirwa wanted solution to problem and not lectures, they were somewhat fixed in turf corner as they got never ending lectures not relevant to their needs. Students were bored and were hungry something those with mics were not sensitive. 10. Students were very happy to receive Hon Welsely Korir, Hon Ngarango and Hon Bissau, the received transport, lunch and this made up to some of biggest frustration they had. Student were creative and started networking with each other. On rate of 1 to 10 on planning - student planners scored 9 On rate of 1 to 10 on staying to agenda - County Gov scored 2 My final submission is that meeting planners did their best but were truly let down by How Governor Khaemba and his Executives teams who avoided and Deflect Questions. Being sincere and sensitive to students needs was the biggest concern I notice. I would like to hear how your rated the meeting as student leadership plan their next meeting.
