Ovnibus Roma is a wonderful project by some folks in Roma, Mexico City. With little money and a lot of work they transformed an abandoned city bus into a free library, classroom, and community space. The bus in volunteer run, and open almost daily to anyone. There are frequent workshops on all kinds of interesting and creative subjects. In the few weeks I have been around there has been video mapping, music, virtual reality, illustration, and stop motion workshops, and all free! A big focus of Ovnibus is to teach the local youngsters to utilize technology for the benefit of themselves, society, and their environment. I feel blessed to have been invited to give the bus a new coat of paint and Celeste Byers and I displayed the first ever art exhibition inside. Muchas gracias to Ovnibus, the inspiring people that make it happen, and everyone who came out to the exhibition!
