Oxfam India along with Mr. Rupesh, the State Advisor of the Supreme Court’s Commissioner released a statement on behalf of an investigating team into the tragic death of children in Bihar. The investigation found that the Bihar Government hasn’t utilized the money allocated for mid-day meals and the school where the tragic incident took place has no doors, windows and facility for cooking mid day meals. The school has also never been visited by the state, district and block monitoring authorities. The investigating team has urged the Bihar Government to strengthen their monitoring systems and equip all schools in the Bihar with proper infrastructure such as safe and all weather school building, kitchen, safe drinking water and hygienic toilets in the next six months.
