[ PARKOUR!!!, as Holly and Bears Mayhem Tour would say? ] When asked, I usually say that Im not a Competitor. More so, I dont like congratulations and honors - AT ALL! I train/work, I get some some results. Nothing special there... Getting an award or some praises is totally undeserved. Worse! To me, it means that being a lazy b*st*rd is the norm and that being a tad bit involved is outstanding. Standing out isnt my thing (1) & (2). When I was a long distance runner, I remember being 4th and totally happy. When, circa 2012, my Roller Derby League threw an award ceremony, I didnt attend because being an Official is, to me, all about Teamwork and going unnoticed. A Skater picked up my award. She still has it. A year ago, I became a WFTDA Level 2 Certified NSO. I never wore the Patches. Whats the point? Telling the Skaters that they can trust you and not that other NSO whos going Patch-less? (During Roller Derby Tournaments, as an Official, I dont care about Getting the Final. After all, Officiating-wise, the 3rd place Game is usually more challenging since the Teams have nothing to lose - Theyve already lost! Plus, you can pack sooner ;)?!!) So, ... Mid-January, Ill most certainly work my last Roller Derby Tournament. Most people/My friends know about it (If not, now you do). I sincerely hope they dont plan anything special - Thatd be going against the values Im standing for. (1): Im not humble, Im just pragmatic/realistic and, maybe, a true selfish c*nt. (2): No judgment involved. Individuals who stand out, Competitors, are people Society needs. Their way to make the World a better place isnt mine - Thats all!
