PARTS OF GATAIVAI EVACUATED Lt Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga this afternoon called on Utulei residents in Gataivai (tank farm mountain side) and up the tramway, to evacuate before night fall. Two families living on the mountain lost their homes in a mudlisde as well as the CCCAS Gatavai church was partly demolished today from mudslide. Lemanu told Samoa News that there are close to 50 families who have been asked to evacuate their homes and move to the Samoana High School, where they will take shelter until further notice. “Safety is our main concern right now and we need the families to evacuate before night fall.”
