PASTOR S CORNER: Is it biblicaly sound to say that we are all children of God irregardless of color or race? 1Jo 3:1-2 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. In John 1:12-13 states the condition on how to acquire this birthright Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. Children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husbands will, born of God. The usage of the conjuction YET is a conditional indication for those people who receive him, and believed in his name, In contrast to those (the world) who did not recognise and receive him(vs. 10-11) That is why John in (v. 2) of 1 jn. 3:2 uses NOW in present active participle. Paul as well in Ga. 3:26 believed that, You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And in 4:7 in same epistle to the Galatians he speaks of the benefit after we put our faith in Christ Jesus, It says, so you are no longer a slave, but a SON; and since you are a son, God has made you also an HEIR.
