PAUL PENRICE, SR. SUNRISE January 10, 1916 - SUNSET June 25, 2003. Paul Penrice Sr. was born to the union of Edgar Whitt and Fletcher Long on January 10, 1916, in Sealy, Texas. He was raised by Dock Davis and Fletcher Long-Davis. He joined Old Bethlehem Baptist Church, New Gulf, Texas, under the leadership of Rev. W. H. Harris, where he served as Treasurer, Trustee, and faithful member until his health impeded him to continue. He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Morris Penrice, Ernest D. Davis, Edgar Penrice, and James Penrice; five sisters, Gladys Penrice, Media Penrice, Marie Gilbert, Elsie M. Davis-Heard and Thelma Davis-Bradshaw. He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Eleanor Turner-Penrice; three daughters, Loretta Penrice-Judkins-Branch (Archie) of Angleton, Ada L. Penrice-Johnson (Luther Jr.) of Houston, Brenda Penrice-Washington (Bennie) of Angleton; three sons, Paul Penrice, Jr. of New Gulf, Bobby Penrice of Pledger and Ray W. Penrice of West Columbia; five sisters, Elizabeth Quiller of Hempstead, Mable Roberts of Rosenberg, Doretha White (Joe) of Houston, Doris Davis-Heard of Palacios, and Martha Davis-Williams of Bay City; one brother Wallace Penrice of Houston; one uncle, Huey Long of Houston; one aunt Roberta Long-Gaines of Houston; sister-in-law, Eva Draper-Davis of Bay City; twenty one grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
