With some serious climbs & rapid descents, only fit cyclists and those intending to ride the IS should come. If you are unsure about the downhills, please arrange your own support cars. What to bring along: 1. Money 2. two full water bottles 3. Hydrating salts 4. energy bars 5. handphone 6. Sparetube & tyre levers 7. Hand pump 8. Helmet 9. Sunblock 10. Rear Lights Safety Notes: Ulu Yam and the climb up Gohtong via Batangkali are tough climbs. Thus, expect very fast descents & factor in the possibility of rain as well. Avoid using carbon wheels & bring your aluminium rims and make sure your brake pads are adequate & working. Bring rear lights & rain jacket. Descend with extreme caution, alternate braking well-advised and slow your descent speed well b4 the bends. Speeds in excess of 70kmh is easy. On the main road (B57), please ride single file & furthest left. Cars travel fast here. Please ride predictably & use hand-signals always. Keep your descending speed down by alternate braking from front to back and in pulsating pulls of the levers.
