PDM 092114 Christ & the Apostles- His Leadership Model ***ministry is not something i do for God, ministry is God doing his work through me. John 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. ***our job is not to cure people. its Gods job. our Job is to CARE. Gods job is to cure :) Gods job is to change. ***Burden is on HIM. He continue to shepherd His sheep. John 12:26 If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. ***you cant move in your ministry apart from God. ??Are you exactly in the ministry where God called you to be?? **you could be in the ministry where Jesus hasnt called you to be. ***WHERE JESUS IS AT WORK, YOU WILL SEE THE HEALING AND MANIFESTATION. ***MINISTRY IS ABOUT PEOPLE ***ITS SERVING PEOPLE. >OF DIFFERENT CHARACTER AND IT CAN CHALLENGE YOU. --SO LONG THAT YOU KNOW YOUR ROLE :) Ephesians 4:1-2ESV I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, LETS SEE AT HOW JESUS APPLY THIS 4 CHARACTER TO HIS DISCIPLES: >Humility >Gentleness >Patience >Bearing with one another Luke 6:12-16 (ESV) The Twelve Apostles In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God. And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles: Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot, and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor. **when Jesus was spending time with the Father, God was giving him instructions. Jesus cant do anything without the instruction of His Father. it was Luke 6:14-16ESV Apostle- somebody sent with a mission. Disciple- someone who wants to emulate his master. v. 14 Simon - the betrayer Judas - the traitor the calling of the apostles begin with them. John Simon- peter - the ROCK Simon and Andrew are always put together because they are brothers. He brought Simon to Jesus. James and John-later named as sons of thunder **the background of the apostles.. they had political ambition because they were nobody and they were looking for their significance. **those who are coming from low political position, they are the one who are more ambitious. AMBITION- WERE THE MARKS OF HIS 3 APOSTLES. Bartolomew - (son of Tolmai..he thn became Nathaniel.).- Philip-introduced Bartolomew to Jesus. Matthew-tax collector. Thomas- the skeptic(doubting) Simon the zealot Judas the iscariot- the place where he was born(Iscariot). --the fake one. LOOK AT THE PROFILE OF THE APOSTLES--- would you like to be with them?? John 1:42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John. You shall be called Cephas” (which means Peter). Judas--Cephaes(means peter) --Vacillating = balimbing --he was very impulsive and then regretful then he then became PETER THE ROCK! ****God is committed to bring you where you are supposed to be!!! **God chose the unqualified because He knows their hearts :) **they were not qualified but God qualified them! **NEVER JUDGE PEOPLE ON WHERE THEY ARE BECAUSE THAT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. **EVERY BELIEVER IS GODS MASTER PIECE IN THE MAKING!! **GOD ALWAYS AND ALWAYS SEE THE POTENTIAL!!! **MINISTRY IS ABOUT LIFE CHANGING :) **EVERYTHING IS FLUID, BECAUSE IT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE :) ??HOW WAS JESUS ABLE TO MANAGE HIS PEOPLE?? first thing that He kepg in his heart -- HE HELD A VISION OF HIS PEOPLE OF WHAT THEY CAN BECOME!!! :) 1 COR 1:27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; hE CHOSE US BECAUSE OF HIS GRACE!! let it be that will BCI be an excibition of Gods Grace. lets not be quick to judge and be hypocrite! the people i think that they can never qualify, can put me to shame because they will be use by God later!!! Jesus was.. >Humble - Jesus wasnt concern on asserting himself to his disciple. >Gentle(with Judas, how he dealt with him.) --grace is given to those who are undeserving. --many people judge others in the basis of who they are.. but God judge you in basis of WHO YOU CAN BECOME. >patient >bearing with one another John 13:1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. Jesus believe that every person is redeemable :) **you can set as a model :)
