The interest and welfare of the people of Ogun is being relegated to the background with decision on government projects influenced largely by pecuniary gains of those in power. This is why the government will first demolition the citizen residence and business premises before doing anything about their resettlement and compensation. In most cases of the demolition, there was no adequate notice, no independent valuation, no adequate compensation when its paid at all and no proper resettlement for those affected. For me as a politician, that is not what democracy entails and our commitment is to change this approach.
