It also canceled Ndokwa East results and declared Ethiope East poll inconclusive. Declaring the results yesterday at DSIEC headquarters, Asaba, the commission stated that the result for Ndokwa East was cancelled following some violence in the area, while the Ethiope East council poll was inconclusive. The names of the councils won by PDP include Warri South, Oshimili South, Ughelli North, Ukwuani, Warri South-West, Oshimili North, Ndokwa West, Udu, Okpe, Ika South, Bomadi and Warri North, Isoko North and Ughelli South. Others are Uvwie, Aniocha North, Ika South-East, Patani, Sapele, Ethiope West and Burutu. As at press time, the result for Isoko South was being awaited. Meanwhile, the chairman of the commission, Moses Ogbe, announced that chairmanship candidates of the PDP in two council areas of Ethiope West and Patani were returned unopposed as none of the opposition political parties fielded candidates for the areas,. He stated that there would be run-off elections in the eight wards of Ethiope East. Ogbe also stated that PDP councillorship candidates for the 20 wards in Patani local government area were returned unopposed, following the failure of the opposition political parties to field candidates for the seats. While commending the commission for taking the bull by the horns to conduct a peaceful election across the 25 councils, the commission’s boss stated that “from reports we got from the 25 local governments across the state, I can say categorically that there was peaceful election in all the areas, except a few areas where some miscreants attempted to disrupt the process. “Well ahead of time, we distributed the non-sensitive materials and we also received the sensitive materials and deposited them at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.”
