PDP delegation calls on Governor, demands justice for victims of Pathribal fake encounter JAMMU, JANUARY 30: A delegation of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by party MLA from Shangus, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain along with locals todaycalled on Governor Mr N N Vohra and demanded justice for the victims of Pathribal fake encounter case. The delegation demanded re- opening of the case and fresh investigation in a time bound manner. Expressing his anger over closing the case by the Army, Peerzada Mansoor pointed out that this case has provided a window of opportunity to the state government as well as Centre to provide justice to the people of Kashmir. He said that faith of the common masses has been badly shattered due to the closing of this case so it was need of the hour to re-investigate the case in a time bound manner to revive faith of the people. MLA Shangus, under whose constituency Pathribal falls, said that it was all due to the denial of justice and lack of transparency and accountability in the system that alienation among Kashmiris has been increasing. He insisted that all institutions including Army and other security forces should be made accountable. MLA urged the Governor to take this issue before the Defence Ministry. He said that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is visiting Jammu in the first week of February and urged the Governor to convey their feeling to the Prime Minister during this visit. Sharing their concern, Governor assured the delegation that he would convey their feeling and his own observations to the Prime Minister on this case. He also assured the delegation that he would take up this matter with the Defence Ministry. Other members of the delegation included Haji Latif Khan, Sarpanch, Majid Khan, Ghulam Nabi Dar, Mohammad Ramzan Khanday, Master Zalal-ud-Din, Ghulam Rasool Wani, Choudhary Shafi Khatana, Mohammad Ramzan and Haji Ghulam Nabi Wani.
