PEOPLE OF AFRICAN DESCENT, STOP CRYING ABOUT THESE TYPES OF ISSUES - TopicsExpress

PEOPLE OF AFRICAN DESCENT, STOP CRYING ABOUT THESE TYPES OF ISSUES WITH THE SAME RESPONSES. THE SOLUTION IS QUITE CLEAR AND I HAVE TWO: 1. Keep your money in your pocket and dont even give this movie the time of day, similar to how we sometimes do our own movies that DO serve our best interest (Miracle at St. Anna). We cannot continue to give our time to those that blatantly let us know that they have no intentions of practicing any sensitivity regarding accurate WORLD history and the people that populated ancient Egypt at the time. (ancient and current are two different time periods). People will not tell a story regarding how they see God with a people that they dont consider Godly. Scott Ridley is quoted “I can’t mount a film of this budget, where I have to rely on tax rebates in Spain, and say that my lead actor is Mohammad so-and-so from such-and-such,” Scott said by way of explanation. “I’m just not going to get it financed. So the question doesn’t even come up.” Scott Ridley, one of the most powerful men in Hollywood has no clue himself when he states that he wouldnt be able to get tax abatements casting someone with the name Mohammad as the lead when the inception of Islam via the prophet Muhammad did not exist (regarding the Holy Quran being introduced to the world and not the concept of one God and submitting to the will of God, which is another story). There are many people of African descent that could have been box office draws but Ridley and the rest of Hollywood most likely feel as if this isnt their fight. Which isnt that far from the truth either…another story. This quote in itself proves that this is partially nothing more than a mere money game coupled with the inaccurate portrayal of world history to market the global minority. Lynn Hamilton, the Swedish woman who created a petition addressing this issue is quoted as saying: “I think that the better situation here would be, [if] you got a film that’s set in ancient Egypt, just have everybody look like they could potentially be from ancient Egypt. And then, if the villains look like people of color, that would be OK because everyone in ancient Egypt was a person of color,” she explained. “That would have actually been historically accurate. But to have the good guys be white and the bad guys be black, that’s problematic; it really is.” she also said that she didnt want to boycott the film or have it removed…says a whole lot in itself. Heres what they think about you… -Ice Cube, Amerikkas Most Wanted- 2. The reality is that we have to support film directors with a fundamental understanding and consciousness of African people and the role we play in the world, not just currently and after 1619 here in the Americas but historically and as it relates to world history and those film directors that arent as versed in the latter, they can easily refer to some world renown historians. Dr. Theophile Obenga, the right hand man to Dr. Chiek Anta Diop is still alive and was apart of the research team that totally eviscerated 20 world renown Egyptologist in 1974 at the UNESCO Conference where they definitively proved the African ethnicity of ancient Egypt. Spike Lee, Ava DuVernay, Julie Dash, Halie Gerima, pick your elixir. There are more than a few competent film Directors of African descent that could direct and filmt a story regarding ancient Kemet (Egypt) Mali, Ghana, Congo, the story of the Haitian Revolution, en-slaved African revolts in the Americas, African spirituality, Paul Robeson, Black Wall Street, W.E.B. DuBois, James Baldwin, Fela, Harriet Tubman etc. I had no intentions of seeing Exodus, my Egun tells me so... If there is no vision, the people perish… theroot/articles/culture/2014/12/exodus_gods_and_kings_flooded_with_race_problems_and_white_people.html?wpisrc=newsletter_jcr%3Acontent%26
