PEOPLE OF THE ROAD TRIP. Marie Glenn of Pawnee City, owner of Heavenly Treasures. We stopped to take photos of the First Baptist Church because a friend had asked us for photos of stained glass. After a little investigation, we realized that it is no longer a church, but a quilters shop. Curiosity got us and we stepped inside. There we met Marie. I asked her what made her think to put her shop inside a church building. Well, I went to church here as I was growing up. It was a sad day when they decided to close the church. When I heard that they were selling the building, I thought it would be perfect for my business. Mark asked what kind of renovations she had to make, and she said, Almost none. I moved a few things around, but most things I kept. The ceiling, the lighting, even the pews. (I use those for shelves.) I just decided to adapt my business to what this building had to offer. Heres to Marie, her ingenuity and the continued success of Heavenly Treasures!
