PHILS PSYCHEDELIC ARCHIVE (4) I wonder how many times your introduction to an act hasnt been the first album; its happened to me loads, but The Doors? How didnt I hear their first effort first? No matter, I wasnt disappointed, but for me, none of their excellent albums were quite as complete as Strange Days, which oozed mystery and a hint of something dark and inexplicable. I could be happy playing any of the tracks, but this one perhaps gives you the overall mood of the album. I prefer the original mix to the 40th anniversary remix mainly because of where the vocal sits - the track Strange Days itself was even worse for me as the remix didnt replicate the vocal fx, so important to that song; and the mix for the official video is just a mess!
