PHYSICAL BRIDGING Read Luke 23: 50-56 Joseph of Arimathea ... went to Pilate, and the body of Jesus after he asked ... it is the cross, he wrapped it in linen, and in a rock tomb neerglê (51.53) The Sailors Home in Liverpool one night on fire. The fire and many of the areas people, were quickly on the scene. The buildings fire escape did not reach the top floor it. By the upstairs windows, men leaned and screamed for help. The firemen had a long ladder and brought to the building at the upper windows let lie. The study was too short. It was the longest available learning. A British sailor among the spectators stood, rushed forward and climb the ladder to the top rung. While people withdraw their breath in astonishment and fright, he makes himself the top rung of the ladder. He clung to a window sill down and form a bridge between the window and learn. Soon! Cried the men inside. Clambering over me and climbed down the ladder. Then! Soon! Soon! One by one the trapped men climbed over the seamans body and down the learning ground. He holds out until the last man came by, and then climb down himself to safety. His face was burning blisters, his hair was scorched, his hands and fingers grazed underfoot, but he saved mens lives. All the encouragement and advice of the earth is crying for them, to no avail. The young sailors own body, the bridge formed. A persons physical, own physical intervention, to a man the highest price that can be paid. This is how Jesus saved us. He gave his own body. In communion we eat the bread of which Jesus said, This is my body which is given for you. And how is Jesus trampled and crushed for our salvation worked! Then they spit in his face and gave him the fists. They slapped him ... when they pull his clothes off and throws him a scarlet robe. They had platted a crown of thorns and put it on his head and put a stick in his right hand ... they mocked him ... hit him with the stick on the head ... They crucified him. (Mat.26: 6 and 7:29, 30.35). His body is to us, the route across the abyss of destruction, heaven. When the Holy Spirit our hearts aware of Jesus physical suffering for us, it demands our commitment to physical. H ere, today is Your crucified body precious to me.
