In this session, Ravi continues his talk about a burning health issue across the world- Obesity. Just like one wants to know in-depth about any area, it makes sense to find out more in depth about what keeps the body ticking. Knowledge can be a very motivational factor when one wants to counter obesity. Yoga is a science which has all aspects of life covered. Obesity is a result of many physiological factors going wrong. Muscles, glands and Energy body constitute three vital elements of the body. When Muscles are loaded, it is called as a concentric workout. This is a method of giving strength training for a weight loss session. The energy consumed by the muscles in such a workout usually comes from the accumulated fat in a particular area of the body. Another way of losing weight is stretching. Here, muscles are pulled which creates an opposite effect of the concentric workout. The muscle becomes more flexible. When the contraction and stretches are done alternatively, toning occurs which gives a good shape to the body. A good workout aims to provide strength, flexibility and shape to the body. Yoga Asanas which involve holding postures in slow movement, provides stretch and contraction and helps to burn the fat very effectively. Asanas also work on glands and the energy body which has an exponentially wonderful effect on the body. Once you get used to these beneficial effects of Yoga, these serve as a motivation to come back to the class for regular practice. KEEP LISTENING!
