PHYSIOTHERAPISTS are now challenging traditional healthcare roles and the scope of the profession is extending … The Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Applied Science (FAS) at Manav Rachna International University has set a benchmark in the academics and clinical practice of Physiotherapy and research for past eight years. FAS has been successfully running Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D. programs in Physiotherapy keeping in view the recent advances in the Physiotherapy curriculum and research. MRIU offers a 4 ½ year under-graduate program and a 2-year post-graduate program in physiotherapy with specializations in Musculoskeletal, Sports, Cardio-pulmonary, and Neurology. This program aims at facilitating personal and professional growth of students so that they develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for the effective management and care of patients. The institute is recognized and approved by the professional bodies governing physiotherapy education in India like UGC, Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP), Delhi Council for Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy (DCPTOT) and has tie-ups with major hospitals in Delhi-NCR. Students expand their horizons of therapeutic and rehabilitative concepts through involvement in community-based rehabilitation programs and other outreach activities. FAS has also tied up with some of the top universities abroad like Tsukuba University, Japan; Lahti University, Finland; Leeds Metropolitan University, UK; University of Sains, Malaysia; University of Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Malaysia; and Teeside University, UK.
