PIA QUEZON PRESS RELEASE: Lucena Manpower Skills Training Center offers 15 vocational courses By Joselito M. Giron Monday 29th of July 2013 LUCENA CITY, Quezon, July 29 (PIA) -- The Lucena Manpower Skills Training Center (LMSTC) is offering 15 technical-vocational courses to poor but deserving students in the city for free. Leo Lagos, LMSTC assistant coordinator, said the training center has produced more than 20,000 graduates. The center equipped them with skills which are relevant and responsive to the demand of industrial sector particularly the domestic and overseas labor market. “The LMSTC has a strong partnership with Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in providing short term courses not only to the residents of this city but also from neighboring towns,” Lagos said. Lagos added that LMSTC is open to out-of-school youths, undergraduates, unemployed or even employed persons who wish to have additional technical skills. Among the vocational technical courses offered are auto-wiring electrician, auto-diesel mechanics, appliance technician, basic computer, baking, cellphone technician, computer technician, dressmaking, driving, hair science, cosmetology, reflexology, refrigeration and air conditioning and welding.
