PIPPA - 4yrs - CHI X JRT - GLOUCESTER Please read Pippas details carefully before deciding to submit an application. Applications which do not meet the criteria will not be considered. Pippa is a 4yr old chi x jrt. She is tiny and weighs 4kgs. Pippa has been diagnosed with Lupus (there are two types dogs can get and Pippa has the milder type) at some point in her life, a condition which flares up under extreme stress and manifests itself in hair loss, scaling or flaking of the skin and skin erosions primarily on the face and ears. She hasnt had a flare up in the 6 months she has been with The Little Dog Rescue. Our vet has said if she does have a flare up the only treatment is steroids so on going costs will be minimal. Pippa travels well in the car in a crate. She can be left at home alone for a few hours and is good either in a crate or free ranging. She sleeps overnight in a crate in our bedroom and is quiet overnight. Pippa has lived with cats and is very cat friendly. Pippa only requires short walks, preferably at least two a day. Her recall is excellent and she never goes far. She is friendly with dogs she meets outside. She is in foster with other dogs and once she feels safe she is friendly towards them but does like her own space. Its possible she is worried about being bumped and remembers past pain. If she was to live with another dog she would need to meet the dog a few times and get to know them. Pippa can be nervous meeting new people and needs to be allowed time to get to know people at her own pace. Once she is comfortable with people she is very friendly and loves cuddles. Ideally her new home will be local to where Pippa is in foster so she can get to know her new family over a few visits. Pippa is a nervous, little girl and would benefit from gradual introductions. Pippa is too nervous and fragile to live with children. She has been comfortable meeting older children out on walks. She will sometimes cry when picked up and needs to feel safe with someone before she is comfortable being picked up. Pippa is vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, flea and worm treated. SUMMARY A calm, quiet household Children aged 15+ only Can be homed with cats Could live with another gentle dog providing there are slow and careful introductions Can be left for up to 3 hours. If you are interested in adopting Pippa please complete our online adoption form here: littledogrescue.co.uk/PreAdoption.html and someone will give you a call as soon as possible.
