PLAINTIVE CRY OF DESPERATION (1) IF ONLY I MAY TOUCH THE HEM OF HIS GARMENT! I SHALL BE MADE WELL (MATTHEW 9:21). The thought going through the mind of the woman who had bled for twelve banana years. A woman in desperate need of rest from a condition so embarrassing and debilitating! Over and above all this, she had spent all her savings trying to find a cure but all her attempts proved futile and now here comes Jesus! The crowd!....How does she get close enough to just touch the hem of His garment? She had faith to believe that if only she could touch the hem of Jesus garments, she would be made well. So she surged through the crowd saying to herself. .....aint nobody gonna stop me now! She did touch the garment and she was healed. She was desperate for deliverance and she had faith in the healing power of Jesus and her determination and desire to be free from her condition moved her close enough to be able to touch Jesus. You and I have a wonderful friend in Jesus who bears all our sins and griefs We have a privilege to carry all our burdens, cares, anxieties, worries and tears to God in prayer! When we fail to do so, we forfeit our peace and in the process, we bear needless pain. All of this, because we failed to carry everything to God in prayer! We may be going through trials and temptations and there may be trouble everywhere We should never never be discouraged but find the courage to take it all to the Lord in prayer. In Him we will find a friend so faithful, a friend who shares in our sorrows, pains and tears He sure knows our every weakness; So why not? Let us take it to Him in prayer. You and I can also stretch our hands to touch Jesus who may seem so far away but yet is ever so so close and with faith as little as a mustard seed in our hearts, our deliverance will surely come!
