PLEASE DON”T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ. I happened on a forum page over the weekend that just hurt my heart. It was filled with lies and half truths about Red Wagon Tutorials. These posts were composed by the disgruntled FEW that did not make it in my program. The reason they did not make it is obvious by their posts: they refused to be led or follow the posted rules. At the beginning of each year, we provide a Student Materials Notebook to each student a month before the class starts. We ask the student and parents to review it before they commence our program. We ask if they have read and understood the rules before we begin and, before we finish registration, they certify they will comply. We also provide an Open House, forty-five minutes worth of instruction, and a multitude of example papers for student use during our first weeks. In short, we do our part to assure student success and we expect both student and parent to follow the posted guidelines as their part in that success. We do not handhold students or parents. We expect them to be able to read and follow simple written and verbal instructions given in class, especially in Honors-level courses. We also do not replace the parent in the home school environment. We expect parents to be actively engaged and monitoring their student’s work. We are content specialists, and we expect the parent to do their part as the daily supervisor of their home school. We do not coddle or enable marginal performance. We are training scholars for success in college from our beginning 7th-grade courses to our highest high school academics. It is very sad that a LOUD few have been allowed to voice such garbage about an awesome home school resource. We have had over 30,000 satisfied clients in our fourteen years of service. The owners of the page should be ashamed. They have allowed their life’s work to be turned into a gossip column fed by profit, not Christian values. For the most part, these forum pages are maintained by our competitors, not our friends. PLEASE DON”T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ.
