Those who dream of a SECRET RAPTURE will be shocked awake by the fact that the plagues of Revelation 16 will take place while they are living on the earth, just as the flood took place while Noah was living on the earth. YOUR GREATEST NEED - THE HOLY SPIRIT - (My Greatest Need Also) UPDATED with the two Golden Rules – Which one do you live by? Which one does the church you attend live by? Your greatest need and my greatest need is not a million dollars. Your greatest need each day is “the Holy Spirit.” God tells us that “You do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:2. So Ask today throughout the day with “PERSISTENCE!” Jesus says you receive “because” you “ask” and because you “ask” with “persistence.” Luke 11:8 -- So “ask” and “seek” for the Holy Spirit with persistence” and with “hunger and thirst” and you “shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6. WITHOUT THE GIFT OF GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT WE HAVE A LIFE SURROUNDED BY DARKNESS, WEAKNESS, AND DEATH! The lapse of time has wrought no change in Christs parting promise to send the Holy Spirit as His representative. It is not because of any restriction on the part of God that the riches of His grace do not flow earthward to men. If the fulfillment of the promise is not seen as it might be, it is because the promise is not appreciated as it should be. If all were willing, all would be filled with the Spirit. Wherever THE NEED OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A MATTER LITTLE THOUGHT OF, THERE IS SEEN SPIRITUAL DROUGHT, SPIRITUAL DARKNESS, SPIRITUAL DECLENSION AND DEATH. Whenever minor matters occupy the attention, the divine power which is necessary for the growth and prosperity of the church, and which would bring all other blessings in its train, is lacking, though offered in infinite plenitude. {Acts of the Apostles, page 50} CHOOSE TO LIVE A LIFE OF STRENGTH AND POWER, AND VICTORY - CHOOSE TO HUNGER AND THIRST AND ASK FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT OFTEN – WITH PERSISTENCE SINCE THIS IS THE MEANS BY WHICH WE ARE TO RECEIVE POWER, WHY DO WE NOT HUNGER AND THIRST FOR THE GIFT OF THE SPIRIT? WHY DO WE NOT TALK OF IT, PRAY FOR IT, AND PREACH CONCERNING IT? The Lord is more willing to give the Holy Spirit to those who serve Him than parents are to give good gifts to their children. For the daily baptism of the Spirit every worker should offer his petition to God. Companies of Christian workers should gather to ask for special help, for heavenly wisdom, that they may know how to plan and execute wisely. Especially should they pray that God will baptize His chosen ambassadors in mission fields with a rich measure of His Spirit. The presence of the Spirit with Gods workers will give the proclamation of truth a power that not all the honor or glory of the world could give. {AA 50.2} JESUS EXPLAINS HOW TO BE FILLED WITH A LIFE OF POWER! Jesus “said to them, ‘Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves; for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within and say, ‘Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you’? I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet BECAUSE OF HIS PERSISTENCE he will rise and give him as many as he needs.” Luke 11:5-8 “Jesus says, “So I say to you, ASK, AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE WILL YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM!” Luke 11:9-13 “you do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:2. So Ask today throughout the day with “persistence. Jesus says you receive “because of” your “persistence.” Luke 11:8. NOTICE: The Holy Spirit, like “the three loaves of bread,” (Luke 11:5) like the “three angel’s messages (Revelation 14:6-12) is given to those who “ask, seek, and knock” with “persistence” to feed another hungry person. The Holy Spirit is not given just to make you holy (This the Holy Spirit does do) but also to use you to share the good news that a terrible crisis is coming but Jesus offers everyone the three angel’s messages to show them the way through the crisis and how to be ready to meet Jesus in the coming harvest when Jesus separates the wheat (saved) from the weeds (those who are not willing to listen to God’s last message and let the Word of God and the Holy Spirit change their lives.) The hell fire Jesus warns us against is far hotter than the popular preachers preach. Popular preachers tell you of a Devil with horns, red pajamas and a pitch fork who will live forever in charge of a lake of fire and torture the sinners who do not make it into heaven. The Devil has deceived them into making God into a cruel tyrant. The Bible tells us that the devil will die in that fire, not live in that fire and that “the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. 3 You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet.” Malachi 4:1-3. The root of sin is the Devil and the branches are his followers. We all follow one or the other – there is no middle ground. Just two choices – Eternal life of joy, building, planting (Isaiah 65:21-25) traveling the universe (Hebrews 1:2) Living in New Jerusalem the capitol city of the universe and having a home elsewhere on Planet Earth (Matthew 5:5; Revelation 21-22; John 14:1-3. The gift of the Holy Spirit makes the difference. Ask Jesus for this most precious gift, ask and ask and ask “Pray without ceasing.” Ask God to write His law in your heart (Hebrews 10:16) this is His desire and plan – for His law is love and when you have His law in your heart He can trust you forever that you will not become another fallen being like the Devil and bring in the sorrow into the universe that he brought in – “For God so loved the world (you) that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever (you) believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16. THE CHOICE IS “LIFE OR DEATH” THERE IS NO FIRE BURNING AT THIS MOMENT THAT SINNERS ARE LIVING IN AND WILL LIVE THEREIN FOR ETERNITY. The Devil (a beautiful angel who rebelled against God and led many other angels to join his rebellion) will not have “eternal life” but will “perish.” Notice that fruit is perishable – that means that the banana you leave out for a month will turn black and die. It does not have eternal life – it perishes. You and I will “perish” if we do not choose to accept God’s most wonderful gift. God created us and saw we were deceived by the Devil and so came to Planet Earth, became a human – the only human that was also God. Lived a pure life, taught us how to live a pure life and died the death our sins deserve so we could have the life He deserves. He wants you to live forever - He wants to prepare you for this eternal life. Ask Him for His greatest gift – the gift of His forgiveness of your failings, your sin and ask Him to send you His Spirit and never give up but pray for the Spirit throughout each day. That is how we walk with Him. I would want them to do for me what Noah did for his generation - warn me and tell me how to escape and how to be ready to live an everlasting life of joy and adventure with Jesus. Is it an unspoken rule that the poorer members are by passed? Does your church “show partiality?” Could that be happening without us even realizing it? Could Jesus be speaking to us when He says “you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.” Revelation 3:17-19. Jesus here speaks of His last church just before He returns the second time. He says that His people have lost sight (“blind”) of their great need of the Holy Spirit and the golden rule and they don’t even realize it. He calls for them to seek for the “eye salve” – the Holy Spirit, faith in the promises of God (The Spiritual Gold) so they might see and be spiritually rich and actually ask God to do what He promises to do – give them His righteousness that they may be clothed (See Luke 15:11-24) As the son confesses his sin and admits that he is not worthy to be called a son, the father says, “Bring out the best robe and put it on him.” “This my son was dead and is alive again.” Luke 15:24. Jesus presents this in answer to what He told Nicodemus, “Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3. Admit your sins. Ask Jesus to do what He promises to do – give you the best gift in heaven, His Holy Spirit so you can live victoriously and carry the gospel seeds to others via internet, books, tracts, T.V. and voice. Ask God to help you live out Christ’s golden rule and not the world’s golden rule! My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, “You sit here in a good place,” and say to the poor man, “You stand there,” or, “Sit here at my footstool,” have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts? James 2:1-4. Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? But you have dishonored the poor man. If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. James 2:5-9. Ask God to help you live by Christ’s Golden Rule and not the World’s Golden Rule.
