PLEASE READ!!!! Yes foster care is necessary to protect a child and hopefully reconcile a child to their birth families. But for those children that are not reconciled to their birth families, being shuffled and moved and abused through foster homes and then blamed for their extended time in foster care isnt ok. AS A CHRISTIAN I BELIEVE PERMANENT FOSTER CARE IS NOT GODS ANSWER FOR CHILDREN, IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY! My prayer often to God is Break my heart for what breaks yours well yesterday once again I am reminded of why my heart for my kids is so strong. Had such an overwhelmingly sad conversation yesterday. I walked away completely speechless! As usual in the conversation adoption came up, with our family it always does simply because we raise our children to not be ashamed. She had heard previously the agency in which we adopted through and obviously had her opinions already in place as we talked. As our conversation continued, She was quite inquisitive, she shared is a CPS professional (management) and has been in the industry for years. She proceeded to express her respect for our adoption agency and then clearly stated she completely disagrees with anything it represents. Now for me that took our conversation in the completely wrong direction. Family Connections Christian Adoptions is the greatest, they believe every child deserves a forever family. How can you disagree with that. One of her final statements to me that just blew my mind was WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO ADOPT THROUGH A SECOND HAND AGENCY RATHER THAN STRAIGHT THROUGH THE COUNTY. BY ADOPTING THROUGH THOSE AGENCIES YOU GET THE CHILDREN WHO ARE THE REJECTS OF THE REJECTS. CHILDREN NO ONE WANTS, CHILDREN THAT HAVE SUFFERED THROUGH FOSTER HOME AFTER FOSTER HOME SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO MANY ISSUES.... at that point I blocked out what she had to say, my heart was so heavy. MIND BLOWN, HEART SADDENED, these are the people meant to protect children. Saddened by the hardened heart that cant see a child for the potential they truly are. My children have very diverse backgrounds, the neglect and abuse they received was not predominantly in their birth homes but rather in the foster homes they were supposedly being protected in. Enough said..... There are children out there just like my children. Children who have been hurt and neglected. Children who are sitting in foster care waiting and hoping for a forever family. Children that deserve to be loved and encouraged to become everything they are meant to be. If you have ever considered foster care or fos-adoption please check into it. Be the hand that God uses to change the life of one of Gods children. My children have had and continue to have their challenges, but as well they are intelligent overcomers who have faced the greatest odds and they continue to come out on top!!!! The talent flowing through each of them is so amazing, I am so humbled to be used by God to help point them in the direction God has planned for them!!!!
