Obviously, the transplant process involves an overwhelming amount of information, consultation, and emotion. It is safe to say that this process is not your ordinary medical procedure or experience. Our family is learning new information daily about the process and how to support “Coach P.” We have had numerous requests from friends and family who have asked how they can support the Pennington Family during the transplant process. Our family has been blessed and graciously declines any direct monetary donations toward Coach’s personal transplant expenses. We sincerely ask anyone who feels led to donate in his honor to please make your donation to the National Foundation for Transplants (NFT) to assist other transplant patients with their expenses. The James E. “Coach” Pennington Heart Fund has been created to honor your donation. Our family and friends have been and remain incredibly supportive and prayerfully hopeful about the future. We are extremely thankful for the team of doctors who have been professional, insightful, and caring throughout this process. The National Foundation for Transplants is working with volunteers and supporters to help relieve the growing burden of expenses for transplant patients.
