For those of you that have not been invited yet, I am setting up a charity/project - FIRST STEP Back On My Feet FIRST STEP Back On My Feet aim to help the homeless by aiding rucksacks with clothing/survival blankets, food/water, info/maps of how/where to seek help. Description Our aim is to help homeless people around the UK get back on their feet. Many homeless people around the UK (and the world) generally have been through something traumatic and do not have the family, financial or emotional support to get back on their feet or deal with their issues. They do not always know who or where to ask/seek for help. This is what I would like to change. We would like not only to make a difference in individuals getting back on their feet but also how the community as a whole view the homeless. I’d like to invent the possibility of having genuine humanity, compassion and helping one of our troubled brothers/sisters up. I see on a daily basis people treading over homeless people on their way to work or to the shops immune and de-sensitised to the fact there is actually a person sleeping on a cold slab of concrete with no roof over their head. Often even afraid to make eye contact and acknowledge the existence of the person lying in the street in fear they might have to reach for their wallets. I would like to give the option instead of giving money to provide the option of giving them a life pack on their FIRST STEP to recovery and being back on their feet. An opportunity. A chance. Some warmth. I believe everyone deserves a roof over their head in this day and age. With homelessness at a record high its time for us to make the FIRST STEP so the homeless can make their FIRST STEP & get back on their feet!! With Sponsorship and Fundraising I hope to initially provide 500 rucksacks. I eventually aim to take these rucksacks into shops where they can be bought for homeless people nearby and the funds then to go back into making more rucksacks providing more warmth and opportunities.
