PLEASE SHARE Hello to you all I need your help to be part of this opportunity to improve the Building legislation in relation to Accessibility, and/or pass this on to others who could also be involved. The Building Code is now 22 years old and a lot of things have changed in the interim. It needs to be updated to help improve access to the built environment and what is safe and accessible for people with disabilities as also safe and accessible for older people, those with temporary impairments, those using prams and, those making deliveries, in fact everyone! The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and the Office for Disability Issues (ODI) are jointly reviewing provisions for building access for people with disabilities. The review is being carried out by Malatest International (malatest-intl). As part of the review we have been invited to ask our members, and interested others, about specific examples of buildings: · That allow access to the building for everyone; or · That cannot be used by everyone.
