PLEASE SHARE PRETTY PLEASE? The Isle of Man Steam Packet company and its DISABLIST behaviour has ticked me off, as you may have read in that excellent article by John Turner this week about my sons girlfriend, in her wheelchair, being thrown round the disabled loo for over an hour on the Ben because it was not EU compliant and she couldnt get out. She spent Christmas and New Year traumatised and black and blue from top to toe. Having tried to play nice I have received emails quoting Ts & Cs from Watts and Woodward, I appealed to Robert Quayle the Chairman thinking he would assist. To my horror I received the most prejudiced email that suggests a 21 yr old woman in a wheelchair should not be travelling alone, her assist dog (£20 fare paid) should have been left in the car terrified in high seas and all but saying that my son is stupid (ONLY I am allowed to say that) for letting her go to the shop / loo alone and that they had gone the extra mile because the Captain of Captains had took me to the ship and showed me the brand new RED emergency cord. I am underwhelmed. SO..................wait for it!!!!!!..................... At 5.30 pm tomorrow night I will be outside the Sea Terminal as I protest against A MONOPOLY who will not even acknowledge that they do not protect their most vulnerable travelers, the disabled. Shame on them!! I am asking for your support to join me in this protest at the Sea Terminal at 5.30 pm tomorrow evening (Monday 28/4/) please stand with me tomorrow night to let the IoMSP know we are not impressed. Who is with me? Namaste — feeling determined.
