PM Narendra Modi to visit Siachen today New Delhi: Ahead of his visit to the Kashmir valley, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Siachen on Thursday to spend time with soldiers on Diwali. PM Modi said in a statement that he is going to Siachen with a message from each and every Indian to the soldiers – that we stand shoulder to shoulder with you. After Siachen, Modis will begin his visit to Srinagar to express solidarity with the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir.. The Prime Minister is expected to land at the airport here at around 1 pm on Thursday. He will then go to the Raj Bhawan where he will meet members of flood-affected families, including women and children, from different parts of the Valley. He will chair a meeting to review the relief and rehabilitation operations by the state and the central government agencies, a state government source told a news agency. Modi is also likely to visit a relief camp in Srinagar, the source added. Modi is likely to announce a relief and rehabilitation package for the flood affected people in the state.
