POLAR....ICE....OTTER and RIVER Yesterday staff recieved a call from a distressed member of the public who whilst out walking in Poolboy Bog Ballinasloe came across 4 extremely scared, saturated babies lying in the undergrowth.A staff member went out straight away to a scene which no longer sadly shocks us...4 little ones so terrified they screeched in terror at our touch, cowering in bushes trying to become invisable, soaked through from the rain and water. We put them straight to bed at Heathlawn after a good rub down, food, wormers and defleaing and gave them some space to settle in.As we left last night all 4 were snuggled up around each other fast asleep, no more worries. This morning, thou still a little shy they were eager to come out in their enclosure and say hello and do a bit of exploring...overnight they had passed so many worms its a wonder they were still alive...horrendous piles upon piles of them. These little ones now have names and a family of rescue workers to love and care for them.We are no longer shocked that some humans can so cruelly still dump babies like these to maybe die slow deaths if not found....but it still makes us angry....angry that people still willnot spay/neuter to prevent such unwanted pups....well now they are wanted....and will go on we hope to live long and happy lives. Again yet another great result which came through teamwork of the general public caring enough to contact our Sanctuary.Thank You....
