POLICE WANT WOMAN(Ridgefield Press,June 12, 1969) Ridgefield policemen are looking for a woman, not a fugitive from justice but to fill the job of Policewoman. She will be on patrol on foot and in a car to prevent and detect violations of laws perpetrated primarily by female offenders and males under the age of 12 years and will investigate complaints of a moral issue which are made by females. The job entails many more tasks, pays $6,500 to $8,318 and included such fringe benefits as overtime , group life insurance and paid pension plan. (And all the donuts she can eat.....??) A future policewoman must be 21 but not over 33. must be of good character, without a criminal record, must be a high school graduate and be able to type 40 works a minute. SHORT FAT FEMALES ARE OUT: a policewoman must be atleast 53 , with weight and height in proportion to height. Applications are available at the Ridgefield Police Headquarters before June 20. Anyone accepted for the job will have the unique honor of being Ridgefields first policewoman.
