POLITICAL NIGERIA AND ITS WAR AGAINST TRUTH - Members of the power-elite are among the most vocal advocates for government schools, yet most enroll their children in private schools wherein they can better develop their minds for the day they assume their positions near the apex of the pyramid, and for the purpose of consolidating their thieving hegemony. Thats why political/economic heisting continues unabated. Thats why the states war against truth and clear-thinking continues apace. And thats also why they established those hallowed institutions behind which they hide. Watch the alluring show of our leaders/rulers, the symmetry of their deceitful faces, they give you some hint of a bulbous enlargement of a roguish cabal, and a palpable bifurcation in all appendages of our political system. Our present-day political leaders/rulers are CACURACHAS! And to them, we are CHICKENSHITS! Thats why they dont care a hoot. And thats why they care less about our economic survival, and the seeming disintegration of our dear country. When the purposes of abstractions (e.g the Corporate-State) are accorded an importance that transcends the interests of all citizens; when one or two persons are suddenly elevated to the ranks of the worlds richest, courtesy of a twisted policy thrust and misappropriation of public funds; when individuals are demeaned by such systems as assets or citizens, or collectivized as the masses, it becomes easy for soulless institutional functionaries to treat men, women and children in the most dehumanizing ways. Whether, it is noteworthy, or only a matter of co-incidence, each of the aforementioned instances of corrupt statist behaviour is directed against the minds of those that the state will either control- if possible- or destroy-should less destructive measures fail. What greater symbolism of this ongoing war against the thinking of people than these: privatizing all state assets, for the benefit of family members, friends and cronies; an educational system that doesnt create an atmosphere for conducive learning; an infrastructural system that has become decrepit, and a health sector that cannot cater for the medical needs of the citizenry. With an average Nigerian head as the target upon which the established order directs its destructive energies, the nature of the threat of our present political system is quite evident, and its pollulating and pulverizing effects should be a concern to well-meaning and truth-seeking Nigerians. - Tajudeen Bakare
