POLITICAL PARTES IN INDIA: MY ASSESSMENT ON THEM in Brief: - All political parties are expression of class interest. There exist many political parties in India namely: 1) Indian National Congress – an oxymoron umbrella party without a laid down policy except that, the party depends on one particular family to deliver its topmost leader. This Party represents capitalist interest openly, by & large. 2) BJP – a right wing fundamentalist party backed by RSS, a Hindu religious outfit known for expertise of religious riots; represent capitalist interest, at the same time encourages fascism by fomenting hate against other than majority Hindu religion, openly. 3) CPI(M), CPI, RSP, FB, SUCI and many a anarchist factions claiming their allegiance to communist ideology via Mao Je Dong and different other hues, are all in fact vanguard parties, run on the principle of democratic centralism. Their utility to the master class is their ability to keep the working class divided. Amongst them are a few parties claiming to represent interest of peasantry & tribal, are in fact secret anarchist outfits, forcing and recruiting minors as their cadre on gun point. They create terror to effectively isolate the locals from the rest of the world. They in fact loot the local people & thereby earn their living. The 5 other named parties are all primarily Leninists; over & above, some are Stalinist or Trotskyite and in addition having their national or local icons. They all are again vanguard parties, believe in democratic centralism. There exist hardly any inner party democracies in all these. Their difference is however obliterated on the question of their reconciliation with the interest of capital. However they suffer from certain inhibitions as to what public may think about their parties, the purity of lofty ideals & revolutionary (?) party image! 4) Further, there are numerous provincial parties – they are one man/woman parties. Strengths are dependent on their own local gang-up; hold or on their equation & rapport with the ruling party in centre plus the support they can garner from capitalists & the cohorts in local levels. 5) There are quite a few minority fundamentalist parties in addition, some open & some secret. The main function of these parties is to exclude the minority communities from main stream and use them as vote bank to negotiate for sops. The leaders gain in stature & by gainful placements. Their sole aim is to immerse the community in utter ignorance & suffocate & force the community to backwardness. These parties like the right fundamentalist foment religion hatred. These two fundamentalist groups together is somewhat successful to keep working class divided thereby serves greatly their master capitalist class. 6) Another party is added in recent time. Name is Aam Admi Party (AAP) meaning Ordinary Peoples Party. This is a result of a demonstration started by Mr. Anna Hazare, respected by many people as a conscience raiser, without any known political connection. His fast until death on the issue of Jana Lokpal Bill & anti-corruption movement acted as the springboard for this party. I will not go into the merit of this movement. The leaders of this party are from amongst bureaucrats, technocrats, legal luminaries, ex-police/army officers & from other section of civil society, coming to prominence from the said movement even though they had a rift on the question of forming a political party. Over 25% of people of Delhi voted this party & they formed a minority Govt in Delhi. One can surely make an assessment seeing the composition & class character. However, it can be said that their spectacular electoral performance without a strong money & muscle power is a pointer. Expecting any real change on any sphere of governance is obviously foolhardy. Interest of the working class is diametrically opposed. This, being the last oppressed class down the ladder represents no class interest but strive hard to disband the class division. A party seeking working class emancipation must be hostile to every other party, representing class interest. Hence World Socialist Party (India) fights against the policy, principle & objectives of all other parties tooth & nail on every platform. Since none of the parties have openly declared abolition of State, currency or declared socialization of all means of production and democratization of society as their objectives, there remains no common ground. Further, Socialism & Marxism is science of working class; science does not permit compromise, is a pointer, all socialists must keep in mind. However, we are against the policies & objectives, not against any person. Hence we must maintain inter personal cordial relation & must never forget that today’s adversary may come back as a comrade tomorrow.
