POOR BLACK DANGEROUS NEIGHBORHOODS (THIS APPLIES TO OTHER CULTURES AS WELL) - So I have done a lot of study on prejudice and its actually semi-natural to have prejudice towards other cultures. Some of us (like me) dont have any prejudice towards any culture or ethnicity partly because of my military experience which in itself breaks down most prejudicial thinking. So, most of us in America know that South Central Los Angeles is famous for being one hell of a dangerous city. It used to be mostly black dominated but now Hispanics have moved in as well. I did some digging around and guess what I discovered. The police force in South Central LA has been almost non-existent since the early 1900s!!!! What happens when a police force doesnt exist? Crime! And what happens when crime goes unpunished. More crime! And what happens when crime is totally out of control and no police force to control it. People take policing in their own hands. In America, we do this in the form of gangs. Other countries have rebels or Mafia but its done different in America. So. For example, in the 1950s, most residents of South Central were brought up with guns, how to use them, how to defend your house in case of burglary, and how to shoot to kill. These were taught to kids at an early age since police forces didnt really exist. This still happens today mostly to targeted immigrants and black neighborhoods. The Irish, Jews, Chinese, and other cultures have all experienced prejudice in America. Its sad but true. Black folk have always experienced prejudice in America. They have been scapegoated since the early days of America. (Blacks werent the first slaves - The first slaves were Whites, then Indians, and finally blacks). Anyhow. The reason this stuff happens is because of prejudicial leadership. They hone their police forces in on White neighborhoods and put little attention to ethnic neighborhoods. This is called complex injustice. Complex injustice is injustice that is too complicated to understand completely but what I stated here should make it a lot more clear on why poor black or ethnic neighborhoods have seen so much injustice and a growth of rebellious groups such as gangs. The only way complex injustices are solved is when knowledge about the problem and the theorized reasoning behind the reasons the problem developed are spread through the population until someone has the solution and the power to influence change.
