POSITIONAL RIGHTEOUSNESS VS PRACTICAL RIGHTEOUSNESS: What - TopicsExpress

POSITIONAL RIGHTEOUSNESS VS PRACTICAL RIGHTEOUSNESS: What confuses and frustrates a lot of Christians is their inability to constantly and consistently practice righteousness twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, four weeks a month and twelve months a year. They have this feeling that until they arrive at this level, they are not spiritually matured and pleasing the Lord enough. But is this true? The truth is that, it is not our practical righteousness that qualifies us for salvation but our positional righteousness which was the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus imputed unto us when we believed. Your practical righteousness is self-righteousness and as good as that righteousness cannot earn you eternal life with God. God does not require you to produce your own righteousness to qualify you for heaven if not, the death of Christ will be of no benefit to any of us.This is the grace of God which He lavished on us to qualify us all who believe for heaven. As for your practical righteousness, you shall be rewarded for it when you get to heaven. Salvation is not a reward for your works, but a free gift of God that can only be received through faith in Jesus Christ. You must let this consciousness sink into you that your practical righteousness does not define your worth or value before the Lord. What counts before the Lord is your positional righteousness which He gave you as a free gift to qualify you for eternal life. Cease living your life in doubt and in fear, feeling guilty all the time, knowing that the Lord loves you and wants you to completely rest, trust, believe, relax and rely on Him for your salvation. This consciousness is the truth and reality which sets you free to enter into the newness of life. This freedom does not lead you to sin, rather it takes you deeper in in the love of God and in the revelation and knowledge of Christ which liberates and makes you perfect entirely lacking nothing. Our relationship with the Lord is not based on fear, but love. Dan Oseni
